Genetics to Blame for some Obese Children?
An article from CalorieLab.com says that the gene that regulates the hormone leptin, which helps regulate food intake, "may be to blame for some cases of childhood obesity." The article sites a report in the New England Journal of Medicine which found that some people who became obese early in life have mutations that didnt allow their bodies to recognize leptin.
